Recommended Food Safari:
Start in Lockhart for Kreuz and/or Smitty's pork loin, head down to Luling for City Market's fantastic pork ribs, skip over to the Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner to wet your whistle on a Bock or a Black, and then find your way to the square in downtown LaGrange for a final stop at Prause's Meat Market and a link of their amazing home-made sausage.

Pretty much anything from the three basic alcohol groups: beer (right now I'm partial to Shiner Black), wine (Michael-David's 7 Deadly Zins) & (single-malt) whiskey (the Macallan 18 will do)

I've always wanted to do a story featuring a meal shared by Rick Schmidt (owner of Kreuz), Tom Perini & Jim Goode. To me these men represent the holy trinity of Texas food.
