    These are really good. I agree with austineater on the quality of the haricots themselves -- they're so tender! Yet crisp! The onions on mine were excellent, too -- purple and sweet. I felt the dish could use a touch more zing, though. The salami should have added a saltiness that would have balanced the sweetness of the onions and the cheese, but I wasn't getting that.

    Based on Alma's rave review, I had to go try these. First, you must know that these are served cold. As long as that isn't a surprise, you should be quite satisfied with this delicious dish. These haricots verts are fantastic. They taste so fresh and young. I don't really know what "young" tastes like, but these taste like that. The salami adds a really nice touch of spice. My only warning is for the purple onions. I am a huge onion fan, but even these were a little strong for me. I couldn't quite eat them all and I pretty much had bad breath all day.

    I have a less healthy fantasy of this dish heavily sauteed in butter. That would be like dessert for me. For now, it is more like a healthy appetizer salad. Also, the serving isn't so big so I see why Alma gets 2 plates! Although for me, it was the perfect preamble to my panini.

    I love Enoteca's green beans! They are thin and crunchy, and served with a course Tuscan salami and slivers of asiago cheese. They must think I'm the "green bean-eating monster," since I always order two plates of these green beans when I eat at Enoteca.
